Never
was Bernie shy, or scared to stand in front of a
large group of people and sing his little heart
out. At the early age of three, Bernie McGee
started singing in his church. It was then he
gained his love for music. Never did anyone
think of his singing abilities until he went to
Woodrow Wilson Middle School and participated in
circle the State With Song, and National Honors
Choir. In High School Bernie traveled with the
elite Counterpoint Choir and sung in the famous
Riverside Church in New York City, Chicago, and
Florida. Later that year he won the
prestigious National Choral Member of the Year
Award.
Although singing was Bernie's First love he
soon became acquainted with Nationally known
speaker Bill D. Cordes who encouraged him to
take his talents to "the next
level". Bernie has spoken at Youth
Conferences, workshops, youth summit's,
church events, and even had the honor to
lead a workshop at the 2005 Amnesty
International National Youth Activist
Kollege (YAK) on racial profiling and police
brutality in Baltimore Maryland.
Bernie Interlocks his
passion for speaking and singing together to
inspire today's youth to Dream BIG, Take
Positive Risk, and Make Right
Decisions. Bernie might be best known for
his amazing musical renditions, and the way
he connects with the audience when he is on
stage. Even though Bernie keeps a busy
schedule he still puts first his church
activities, family/friend time, and time
to write original lyrics, his newest being
"I made It Through The Storm, This is My
Dream, and Why God Why. Bernie lives his own
unique life and realizes that he will only
get out of life what he puts into it. He
knows and understands that God is the
ultimate captain and controller of life. He
knows God can give, and just as easy... take
away. You might want to keep your eyes set
on Bernie, because before you know it, he
will be taking his talents to a news level.
